We are hands on with our puppies from the time labor begins until they start their lives on their new farms. We monitor our puppy's weights, activity, nursing, and personality development to make sure they are growing well and building proper relationships with ourselves, each other, and the other animals on our farm. Our children are hands on with our puppies which is a mutually beneficial arrangement that allows our girls to experience the responsibility and joy of caring for puppies, and our puppies to become accustomed to being picked up and handled by little hands from day one.
Starting at 3 weeks, we begin letting our puppies out into the yard under supervision. From here they will begin to join us for our daily chores where they will be introduced to our farm animals. Over the next 2 weeks we increase exposure until 6-8 weeks when they begin spending all of their time with our goats and cows. We are intentional to begin building the foundational bond between our LGDs and the livestock as early as is safe for the puppies.
Our puppies come with regular deworming, and first set of vaccines by request. We allow our puppies to be picked up around 10 weeks old.
